“Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.”
– 1 John 3:18
At Southside Church, our student ministry—Three18—exists to glorify God by reaching and discipling students with gospel truth and Christ-centered love. Designed for students in Grades 6–12, Three18 is a place where teenagers are challenged to know God, trust His Word, and live their faith boldly and sincerely in a culture that desperately needs His light.
The mission of Three18, the Student Ministry of Southside, is to bring glory to God through word, thought, and deed. We strive to explain the gospel so that students understand and know how to respond in faith.
Our teaching is not surface-level. We aim for depth—introducing students to the riches of Scripture and the reality of living as a follower of Christ. This means helping them understand the gospel clearly, respond to it personally, and share it courageously.
We desire to see students mature in their faith; we encourage this through a process of discipleship. Through the teaching of Scripture and prayer, we wish to see students have a proper understanding of who God is and what He desires for them.
We wish for our students to be holy as God is holy, walk in obedience, and recognize Jesus Christ as our ultimate example.
We chose the name Three18 because we wanted to live out the truth found in
1 John 3:18:
"Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth."
This verse defines our posture—students not only knowing the truth, but living it out with conviction and compassion. We call our students to a lifestyle that reflects gospel-centered action: love in deed and in truth, not just in speech.
We believe discipleship starts at home, and we consider parents to be our greatest partners in student ministry.
We provide regular communication, opportunities to connect with our leaders, and a shared vision to raise up Christ-exalting young men and women.
Our calendar is full of opportunities for spiritual growth and community—discipleship nights, outreach events, retreats, small groups, and service projects. These aren’t just fun hangouts (though we do have plenty of those)—they are moments for students to apply what they’re learning, encourage one another, and grow together in Christ.
