Cornerstone – Senior Adult Ministry
“That this is God, our God forever and ever. He will guide us forever.”
At Southside Church, we believe that discipleship doesn’t have a retirement age. Our Cornerstone Senior Adult Ministry exists to honor, encourage, and mobilize men and women aged 55 and older to continue growing in their relationship with God and to serve as steadfast examples for the next generation.
Through Bible study, prayer, fellowship, and service, Cornerstone provides meaningful opportunities to stay spiritually engaged and relationally connected—while having plenty of fun along the way.
Purpose & Vision
The Cornerstone ministry is rooted in Psalm 48:14, recognizing God’s faithful guidance throughout every stage of life. Our seniors play a vital role in the life of our church by modeling faithfulness, wisdom, and joyful service. We seek to:
Cultivate deep relationships with Christ and one another
Foster intergenerational connections within the larger church body
Encourage spiritual growth through Scripture and prayer
Support and disciple the next generation through service and example
Monthly Fellowship
Each month, we gather for a time of fellowship and encouragement around God’s Word. These events are designed to strengthen relationships and nourish the soul in a warm, joyful setting.
Monthly Outings
Food and fellowship go hand in hand! Every month, our seniors enjoy a group meal at a local restaurant. These outings are a great way to connect with friends and enjoy time together outside the church walls.
Field Trips
From local museums and theaters to cultural sites and seasonal events, our Cornerstone field trips offer refreshing ways to enjoy community and explore God’s world. We plan several of these special trips throughout the year.
Service Opportunities
Cornerstone is a ministry not only of fellowship but of purpose. Every month, there are opportunities to serve others within the church—helping with events, mentoring younger members, preparing meals, or assisting where needed. You are never too seasoned to make an eternal impact.
